PelhamToday received the following letter in response to a recent Letter to the Editor.
At last someone with common sense has spoken on the Boomers' behalf.
Everyone has said "That ship has sailed" but it all started with the first NAFTA trade agreement 40 years ago, that gave multinational corporations carte blanche to produce are everyday products in primarily Asian countries and bring them into North America duty free, and the one I really don't understand, when we agreed to let Mexico be part of it. I support free traders with like minded economies, but reject free trade with countries that aren't on our economic scale.
I'm a small-C Conservative that believes in fiscal responsibility, but now we're all engaged in literally vote buying, when social benefits should be addressed by the private sector.
