LETTER: Massive buildings mar beauty of small towns

Developers are 'taking over every charming town'

PelhamToday received the following letter to the editor from a reader in response to the ongoing debate over development in the Niagara region and beyond:

I agree with the letter and opinion on developers taking over every charming town — that has pleased current residents for some time — but recently looking at both Port Dalhousie and also Port Colborne that now have massive multi-storey buildings in the very heart of these small towns is appalling.

One can neither see Lake Erie nor Lake Ontario, due to these ugly buildings taking over the beauty of the water and landscape.

Also, with residential townhomes built next to the MCC parking lot, the owners now have numerous vehicles parked directly along the homeowners' fence while games are being played throughout the day and night.

Positive the owners will not have their residential taxes reduced for this inconvenience and noise issue.
