PelhamToday received the following letter about the need for parks to be integrated in planned development.

Parks create an opportunity to provide a sense of community. That inclusivity is important as became obvious during the COVID shutdown. Being outdoors safely is both a balm and stimulating to our mental health.

Whether a park encourages  sports activities , serene gardens or entertainment, convenient and safe access is necessary for the success of the park.

With intensification of home building it is more important than ever for parks to be integrated in the planned landscape. Not all need to have children's playgrounds. Trees and benches, winding sidewalks and ponds are appreciated by all, including wildlife.Think  Rice Road and Port Robinson. Good to know more Pelham councillors are recognizing the value of integrated parks.
