Fonthill collision disrupts traffic

No injuries in mid-afternoon incident

Shortly after 2 PM on Friday, Jan. 27, Niagara Regional Police responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Hwy 20 near the Giant Tiger plaza in Fonthill.

Police say the collision involved a grey Ford F150 pickup truck (driven by a Pelham man in his 60s)  and a grey Nissan Sentra (driven by a Fonthill man in his 70s).  Niagara EMS paramedics attended the scene to assess the drivers for injuries. Neither driver was transported by EMS. The collision caused the airbags to deploy in the Nissan.

Police say that approximate vehicle damage to the Nissan was $3000, and $2000 to the Ford. The driver of the Nissan has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario for Failing to Yield From a Private Driveway.
