Karen, age 60, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 28, 2025. She is now joyfully reunited with her son, Dylan who preceded her in death in 2021.

Karen leaves behind her best friend and soul mate of 31 years, Arnold, who will miss her deeply. She was a loving mother to her four boys – Ryan, the late Dylan, Shayne, and Kyle, who were her world. She was a special mother in law to Mel (Eric Vander Meer) and a cherished Oma to Oliver and Arlo, who adored her, as did she, and with whom she loved spending time. Karen was also very excited and looking forward to the arrival of her third grandchild to be born this year.

Cherished daughter of Ross and Sharron Morris, and daughter in law to the late Wiecher and Ann Hoeksema.

Karen was the beloved sister of Gail (John) Pellow, Leslie (Curtis) Waldt, and Rob (Karen) Morris. Sister in law to Margaret (Andy) Mans, Warren (Mary-Ann) Hoeksema, Diane (Bob) Spoelstra, Hans Hoeksema, the late Bill (Jeannie) Hoeksema, Annette (Clarence) Visser, Karen (Peter) Van Weerden, Irene Hoeksema, and Marian (John) Blokker.

Missed forever by her dear friends Carolyn Janzen, and Sheryl Vanalstine.

Karen will be missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Known for her love of nature, Karen could often be found on her deck at home, listening to the peaceful sounds around her. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. When not at home Karen loved camping, which brought her much happiness. An animal lover at heart, she found joy in the company of her many cats, dogs and farm animals over the years.

Karen’s family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the firefighters, paramedics and doctors at Welland Hospital who provided care during her final moments.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Karen’s presence in our lives will be forever cherished, and she will be missed beyond measure.

Karen’s family will receive visitors at PLEASANTVIEW FUNERAL HOME 2000 Merrittville Highway (on the corner of highway 20) on Monday, March 10 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 10 a.m. Please share your memories, condolences and photos online at www.pleasantviewcemetery.ca.
