Mar 22,1943 - Nov 13, 2023
Passed away peacefully at Welland Hospital on Monday Nov 13th, 2023, in her 81st year.
Born in England, she proudly completed a BA degree from The Open University. Diana emigrated to Canada with her husband shortly after their marriage in 1965. They lived in Quebec for 11 years and then made the move to Ridgeville where they enjoyed a large garden for 30 years before moving to Fonthill in 2012. Here they continued their gardening on a lesser scale and were enthusiastic members of the Pelham Horticultural Society.
Diana was actively involved with the Women's Institute, where she was President of the Fonthill Branch in their centenary year and was an active member of the Fonthill Holy Trinity Anglican Church serving terms as President of the Anglican Church Women and Director of the Altar Guild. In 2016 she was awarded the Anglican Order of Niagara honoring her service to the parish and the church. Another of Diana's enthusiasms was hiking. In 2007, she achieved her goal of completing the End-to-End of the Bruce Trail. But her major love was the Girl Guides, where she was at first a member and then a leader for over 65 years.
Diana will be greatly missed by her husband Richard, son Tony, daughters-in-law Tanya and Lob, brother-in-law Conway, grandchildren Jessie, Jeffrey, Natasha and Elara and her nieces and nephews. She is survived by brother Richard Wilson (Pauline) and predeceased by parents Rosina and George Wilson, and brother John Wilson (Phyllis).
Diana has chosen to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
