Steele, Sarah Margaret 1990 -2023
It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Sarah announce her sudden and unexpected passing as a result of a car accident on Thursday, November 9, 2023.
Sarah will be forever loved and cherished by her parents Annette and David Steele and treasured always by her brother Thomas.
She is predeceased by her grandparents Phil and Peggy Chaisson, and Rose and Blake Steele and her uncles Sam Steele and Allan Chaisson.
Sarah is the much loved niece of Ron and Judy Steele, Cathy (Steele) and Doug McClenahan, Rosalee (Steele) and Keith Murphy, Maureen (Chaisson) and John Huber, Joan (Chaisson) and John May, Christine (McMahon) and Michael Chaisson, Therese (Chaisson) and Mike White and Linda Chaisson, wife of Sarah's deceased uncle Allan Chaisson. She leaves behind many, many dear cousins (particularly her cousin Kathleen) and second cousins, too many to name, and most particularly she will be forever cherished and loved by her soul mate and good friend Tyler Koskenoja.
As a younger girl Sarah excelled in golf and figure skating. During her teenage years, as a Junior golfer and member of the Lookout Point Golf Club she was Junior Girls Champion as well as Junior Girls Champjon of the Niagara District Junior Tour in 2006 and 20007 and went on to play golf for Ottawa University. Although Sarah was a very creative and gifted writer from an early age, Sarah's true passion was always in art and from the age of three she demonstrated both an affinity and passion for creating art. Portraiture became her specialized area and was juried into many local Art shows. She was particularly excited when she was invited to participate in the Pelham Art Show in 2019 and the Niagara-on-the- Lake Pumphouse Art Show in 2019.
Sarah worked as a Scenic Artist for the Toronto Film Industry working on many films such as Star Trek and In The Dark but was especially excited about working on The Handmaid's Tale and was particularly thrilled to meet Elizabeth Moss and have her picture taken with her at The Handmaid's Tale party when it won the Emmy Award.
