PelhamToday received the following letter from reader Georgio Panici about the proposed multistory residential building at Welland Road and Pelham Street:

It seems that not even churches have common decency anymore. In my discussions with the Lutheran Church of Canada, it seems that there is no control over their local flock at the Concordia Lutheran Church on Welland Road, and they can do what they want. They continue to disregard over 600 signs and names on the petition opposing their proposed behemoth of a condo tower nestled, or should I say jammed, onto a small size lot, the building face being within meters of existing two-story residential dwellings. And then there is the existing church jammed up against the other face of the condo tower.

We need your presence at the Committee of Adjustment (CoA) meeting Monday night, June 5, at 4 p.m. at the Accursi Room in the Meridian Community Centre (MCC). If you have any bit of undeveloped infill space anywhere near you, it's going to get a large unwanted development coming your way soon. Did you know that the town only has to advise residents within 60 meters of CoA items?

By the way, we are not against development; however, we oppose inappropriate development, such as the proposed 105 Welland Rd. condo tower.
