PelhamToday received the following reader letter about the state of democracy in Canada.
We can`t allow politicians to make our choices for real democracy. Right here in Niagara, it should be on the next municipal election ballot, for each citizen to vote for our next Regional Chair if Regional Government in Niagara still exists and what type of municipal governing body do we want.
To take it a step further, on the next federal election ballot, we should be able to choose if we still want to be tied to the Monarchy, seeing that we have an unelected Senate.
It`s time we have a choice for real democracy!
