LETTER: Nearly fell for speed limit story hook, line, and sinker

'After the laughter, the inclination to run in the next municipal election did not dissipate'

PelhamToday received the following letter to the editor from reader Chris Aqui, who expresses mirth in being fooled this April Fools Day

Last night as I slowed down at the end of my day. I had a glass of Niagara's finest and started to read what's happening locally. I read the article about the speed camera's and found myself getting upset...very upset about what I was reading. So upset that I thought council was out to lunch and all needed to be replaced in the next election.

Hence, the genie came out of the bottle. I quickly found a picture of council and if I successfully ran in the next municipal election, I would bring down the average age of council...I am sure.

As I got to the end of the article, I realized I had been had and laughed at myself for getting so worked up. However, like I said, the genie is out of the bottle...after the laughter, the inclination to run in the next municipal election did not dissipate.
