In response to Don Rickers' article regarding maritime disasters, thank you for writing it. My sentiments exactly.
Any loss of life is tragic, but to spend such extensive coverage about five people on a dangerous mission, chosen by themselves, is hardly comparable to the large and repeated loss of life of desperate migrants risking their lives in search of a better life and future. Yet it seems to be a quick passing news line— even when sadly there was such a large loss of life.
