PelhamToday received the following letter taking issue with James Culic's stance on the use of speed cameras.

James Culic’s personal point of view is skewing his logic.

Speed cameras are being used because it’s cheaper than hiring more police to monitor speeding. It's for efficiency. It saves us (the people who don’t speed) money. How can you call that a tax grab? It’s the opposite of a tax grab.

If people didn’t speed we wouldn’t need to monitor them. If Culic wants to drive all over the place to avoid the cameras that’s up to him. It’s a free country. Of course it will eventually cost him more in time and gas, but it won’t cost the taxpayer anything and it won’t harm the rest of us. So what’s his point?
