PelhamToday received the following letter regarding a deferral of a Pelham Town Council report on the creation of the Redecan Community Liaison Committee.

Hello residents of Pelham.

As the Chair of the last council’s Cannabis Control Committee (“CCC”), I came before Pelham Council on Wednesday June 7, 2023 to encourage the new council to walk over the finish line and claim our odour protection prize, namely the Redecan Community Liaison Committee (the “Redecan CLC”) that is designed to protect Pelham and our neighbouring Welland residents from odour long into the future.

Thanks to all of you who attended and filled council chambers and who watched on YouTube on June 7th. I had the opportunity to speak with many of you and your determination to help us get this done and celebrate a major return on our environmental air quality investment in this community was felt by council.

Council directed Pelham staff to prepare a staff report on the creation of the Redecan CLC and return this report to council on July 26, 2023.

Unfortunately, staff are delayed and they have reported to council that their staff report will instead be presented at the council meeting on 6 September 2023.

So there is no need to attend on July 26th; please mark your calendars for September 6th instead.

I look forward to seeing you in early September.  Enjoy your summer!
