PelhamToday received the following letter regarding recent comments by Doug Ford.
Mr Ford said it is not up to the school boards to indoctrinate the students.
With regard to the use of pronouns some students are, of their own free will, choosing. Some students do experiment with nicknames, with clothing, with hairstyles & hair colours, with piercings, with tattoos, with alcohol and with sex. Lest I forget also with gambling & cannabis. It has always been true. All of which is easier and more common than in the past.
So why has Mr Ford chosen "pronouns " as the subject of major concern and only after others had already offered public criticism? Is it possibly because Mr Ford is trying to deflect attention from the broader affecting, more controversial Greenbelt issue?
Whatever it is Mr Ford should stick to what he professes to know. Apparently that does not include the school boards, this generation of children and the once again besieged teachers.
