Joyful lights pay off for Pelham Cares

For the third year running, Brad Saplywy and his son Brayden created the Brayden Joymaker Truck during the Christmas season as a fundraiser for Pelham Cares.

Decorated with 9000 bulbs, the truck made appearances at various December events, and was originally Brayden’s idea in 2020, when in-person Christmas was essentially cancelled due to quarantine rules.

Now 12, Brayden and his dad presented their 2022 contribution to Pelham Cares last Friday, Jan. 24, where the duo received a certificate of appreciation from Pelham Cares coordinator Jenn Dube. Brad, who coaches two PHMA hockey teams and is a PMHA director, says that this brings the total donations collected to date to nearly $15,000.
