Open House celebrates Pelham Fire's 100th

Second of four events commemorating centennial year

The Pelham Fire Department and the Fonthill Volunteer Fire Association are celebrating 100 years of service in the community in 2023. On Saturday, June 10, Pelham Fire Station 1 hosted an open house with fun activities, food and refreshments, a display of current and past-era vehicles and historic memorabilia, as well as performing life-saving re-enactments. Fenwick Station 2 and Shorthills Station 3 also participated in the day-long activities.

Many of the Pelham Fire Service’s approximately 100 full-time and 30 volunteer firefighters were in attendance to greet and socialize with the many families and individuals who attended. In total, four centennial celebrations have been planned for throughout the year; this was the second. The next event is on September 16 when the association will be hosting a community dance. This will be followed with the annual Fall Turkey Raffle on November 24.
