Most of Pelham affected

HydroOne's planned outage areas next Sunday morning are illustrated by the overlapping brown overlays.

One week from today, overnight between Saturday and Sunday, May 27-28, HydroOne will cut power to a wide swath of Pelham, as well as parts of Thorold and Welland, for what it is describing on its website as “performance switching.”

The utility says that power will go off at 3 AM Sunday, and be restored by 7 AM, over its service area bounded approximately by Hwy 406 to the east, Victoria Avenue to the west, Sumbler Road to the south, and Roland Road to the north (see map above). Some 7300 customers will be affected across two zones.

Several readers tell PelhamToday that they have received automated HydroOne phone messages in recent days advising of the planned outage. Future outages are posted on HydroOne’s website, and may be found here. In the Map Legend graphic, select “Future Planned Outages” to update the display.
