SUMMERFEST 2023 | Saturday is Street Festival time

The busker stage on the south end of Pelham Street will return this year as an additional location to showcase other live acts

Get ready for the Pelham Summerfest Street Festival on Saturday, July 15, with a full day of activities starting at 10 a.m. and continuing until midnight as part of Pelham Summerfest’s four free days of family fun.

A host of local musical performers will be performing on the main stage that was relocated to the front of Pelham Town Hall in the 2022 event. The Dynamic Trio will kick off live music, immediately followed by the MadMen playing yesterday’s and today’s hits. The eight-piece horn band, the Howling Horns, will take the stage in the early afternoon, with the Madhatters kicking off the evening lineup. Guests can round out the day listening to performances by the Stereo Stars, The Chimps, with the closer by The Figure Four, who will be rocking and rolling on the stage until midnight.

“Pelham Summerfest is an event that continues to highlight local talent of all kinds,” explained Director of Culture, Recreation and Wellness Vickie vanRavenswaay. “The incredible combination of new and returning vendors and performers this year demonstrates how fortunate we are to host this festival in the heart of the Niagara Region with all the talent it has to offer.”

Also added in 2022, the busker stage on the south end of Pelham Street will return this year as an additional location to showcase other live acts, including a fiery performance by Angela Argentina from Hoop You. The hometown festival feel will go down Pelham Street, with over 60 vendors, including tasty eats, artisan goods, and local community booths for visitors to enjoy.

Key supporters of the first Pelham Summerfest, the Pelham Active Transportation Committee, will keep guests busy in the “Active Zone” with chalk drawing, cyclist safety information, and mini golf. The Kids Zone in Peace Park has a full lineup of family-friendly activities throughout the day, including a superhero training class in the morning and afternoon performances by the Fonthill Music Academy junior and senior bands. Kids will also enjoy various inflatables, including a paddle boat lagoon, bounce house, and dual slide. Those preferring a more relaxed form of entertainment can participate in arts and crafts provided by Carousel Players or watch experiments from Mad Science.

A shuttle service and free bike valet will be available to those attending the events.
