Would you like a helmet with that?

Fonthill burger franchise outlet partners with NRPS in head-gear giveaway

Wendy’s not only serves up burgers, it’s also big on bicycle safety for kids. Accordingly, it partnered with the Niagara Regional Police Service again, for the fifth year in a row, for its summer safety giveaway.

The Niagara-wide campaign involves NRPS officers giving out Frosty coupons to kids demonstrating safe summer behaviour, such as wearing a safety helmet while biking or a life jacket while boating. It also creates opportunities for Niagara’s youth to interact with NRPS officers in a non-threatening environment.

The campaign kicked off Thursday, July 6 at three Wendy’s locations, including the franchise on Highway 20 in Fonthill.

Frosties were free for all children who attended, and bike helmets were provided free for kids ages one through 13 who showed up at 11 AM.
