At the Emergency department of the Welland Hospital on May 6, 2024, Regina "Jean" Tarajos passed away after a brief illness with her family by her side. Cherished wife of 54 years to John "Bob" and mother of Tara (Wally Grobb) and David (Bobbie). Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Kaylynn and Mason Grobb. She will be missed by her siblings David Boland (Ada), Veronica Boland (Margo), Randy Boland and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws whom she loved dearly. Predeceased by her parents David and Cecilia "Sis" Boland (nee Bengert) and her sisters Gloria Demers and Maxine Poitras.
Jean will be remembered as a caring woman whose door was always open to those who needed a delicious meal or were craving her legendary cookies and cakes. She was happiest when surrounded by her large extended family during the holidays and other special occasions but especially when spending quality time with her grandchildren. Over the years, Jean and Bob loved making memories during summer trips to Dorset with the kids, beach days at Grandma and Grandpa T's, backyard cook outs and other annual events held in her beloved village of Wainfleet. She also enjoyed her quiet time and drives out to the lake with Bob, spending time in the kitchen with Tara and Dave, visiting with her best friend Jay, catching up with her school bus ladies, playing Bingo or just relaxing in the sun with a cigarette and a game of solitaire. She is also well known for helping her kids clean up at the Wainfleet Fall Fair in categories like "Best Dressed Hot Dog" and for making some of the most original Halloween costumes from scratch which even made an appearance on the local morning news.
Jean always went above and beyond for those she loved.

In honouring Jean’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life is planned for Sunday August 18th (her 75th birthday) at the Tarajos home at 41847 Buliung Road in Wainfleet from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Please stop in and share a favourite memory of Jean.
