Niagara police seek driver for dangerous operation of vehicle

At approximately 8:15am on Monday, Jan. 16, 3 District (Welland/Pelham) uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to a home in the area of First Avenue and Woodlawn Road, in the City of Welland, regarding a suspicious vehicle.

The motor vehicle, a black Honda Civic left the area prior to police arrival. The Honda was located at the Pen Centre in the City of St. Catharines. 

The suspect driver proceeded to intentionally strike three unmarked police vehicles, as well as a parked member of the public’s vehicle, before fleeing the area. 

Out of concern for public safety, a pursuit was not initiated by the involved officers.

The suspect was last seen in the City of Niagara Falls in the area of Oakwood Drive and McLeod Road.

3 District detectives have been assigned to the investigation and as a result of that the investigation, the suspect has been identified as Jeremy Joseph Bowen (24 years) of no fixed address. 

Bowen is wanted for the Criminal Code offences of:

  • Flight From Police (2 Counts)
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle (2 Counts)
  • Fail to Comply with Probation (5 Counts)
  • Theft Under $5000
  • Assault with a Weapon

Bowen is described as:

  • White male
  • 5’11” ft. tall, 205 lbs.
  • Brown hair, blue eyes (glasses)
  • Tattoos: Right Upper Arm – Words – “family”; Left Forearm – Words – “not to we are lost”

Bowen is believed to be driving a black 2021 4 door Honda Civic with a rear Quebec licence plate bearing marker FNS2738.  There is believed to be significant damage on the front-end damage to the back end. Bowen may also have two dogs (possibly pit bulls) in the Honda with him. 

Bowen’s current location is unknown. Members of the public who may see Bowen or know his whereabouts are asked not to approach or confront him 911 should be called.
