Moises Medeiros is back behind bars after being apprehended in Welland, police say

A wanted federal offender who has a tattoo on his neck described as "hands holding jail bars" has been apprehended in Welland, according to police.

Moises Medeiros, who also sports a neck tattoo that bears the words "snitches get stitches" went unlawfully at large on Jan. 2, according to the Ontario Provincial Police.

Police at the time said the 28-year-old was known to frequent the Greater Toronto area, Hamilton, St. Catharines and the Niagara Region.

Their description of the offender also detailed his nine tattoos, which also include religious symbols.

Medeiros is serving a two-year sentence for possession of a prohibited restricted firearm with ammunition.

He was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant as a result of a breach of his statutory release.

He was located and arrested in Welland by the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad, according to an OPP news release.
