On Jan. 16, 2023, the Niagara Regional Police Service received a theft complaint from a family member of an 87-year-old senior citizen residing at Niagara Ina Grafton Gage Village, located at 413 Linwell Road, in the City of St. Catharines.

Investigation has determined family members of the senior began suspecting missing funds from within their father’s room.  As a result, family members purchased and installed a camera inside their fathers independent living area.  After review of the video, family members discovered evidence to suggest their father’s Personal Support Worker was responsible for the theft of Canadian currency.  The Personal Support Worker was employed by Niagara Ina Grafton Gage Village, who have been fully cooperating with investigating officers.

Kathleen Erin Little, 38 years old, of St. Catharines has been arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offence:

• Theft under $5000 (4 counts)

Little was released on a Form 10 Undertaking and is scheduled to attend the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in the City of St. Catharines on March 28, 2023.

This investigation is being led by an officer assigned to 1 District Uniform Patrol and being overseen by the 1 District Criminal Investigative Branch.  Officers suspect there may be additional complainants and are encouraging any senior or family member of any senior who was cared for by LITTLE to report any previously suspected suspicious activity.
