Police looking for suspect in Port Colborne robbery investigation

Police are looking for a suspect in connection with a robbery at a Port Colborne business.

On May 10, 2023, at 11:13 p.m. 6 District – Port Colborne uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded to a commercial robbery in Port Colborne.

The initial investigation determined a lone, disguised, unidentified male entered the 7-11 convenience store located at 111 Clarence Street brandishing a hammer. The suspect smashed a glass case while demanding money.  Employees complied with the suspect and gave him an undisclosed amount of money.  The suspect ran east from the store into a nearby alley.  No employees or customers were injured.  

A police K9 track of the area was not able to locate the suspect. 

Detectives from the 3 District – Welland detective office of the Niagara Regional Police have been assigned to the investigation. They are being assisted by detectives from the Forensic Services Unit.

The suspect is described as:

  • White male
  • 5'10"
  • 180 Lbs. medium build,
  • Brown eyes and bushy eyebrows

The suspect’s clothing is described as:

  • Green shirt covering face
  • Blue hoodie
  • Black pants
