Searchers find body of missing St. Catharines man

The circumstances around the 32-year-old's death remain under investigation

On March 9, 2024, at 10:28am 1 District (St. Catharines / Thorold) uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to an assist ambulance call in the City of St. Catharines. 

A body was discovered at a Raymond Street house. The body had been located by a civilian volunteer search party looking for local missing man Johnathon Cronkwright.

1 District detectives have been assigned to the investigation.  The identity of the deceased male has now been positively determined by forensic investigators to be Johnathon Cronkwright 32 years old of St. Catharines. 

The scene had been secured by officers but has since been released.

The circumstances around Jonathan’s death remain under investigation by detectives.  Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the investigating officers by calling 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1004233.
