St. Catharines woman charged with attempted murder after stabbing

On April 4, 2024, at 2:36 p.m., 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) uniform officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the area of Vintage Court and Louth Street in the City of St. Catharines.

When they arrived, along with Niagara Emergency Medical Services (NEMS) Paramedics, a female was located with serious stab wounds.

She was treated at the scene and transported to an out of Region hospital where she was treated and released.

Detectives from the 1 District Detective Office and Forensic Services Unit (FSU) attended the scene.

Responding uniform officers located a suspect a short distance from the scene.

A 40-year-old female has been arrested and charged with the criminal offences:

  • attempted murder

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines on April 5, 2024.

The identity of the accused is not being released as it could identify the victim in this matter.

The 1 District Detective Office has maintained carriage of this investigation.
