Two Pelham residents arrested for string of break and enters

Throughout the month of January 2023, the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 3 District (Welland / Pelham) Street Crime Unit (SCU) began investigating break and enters that occurred at closed commercial businesses located throughout the downtown core in the Town of Pelham.

Each of the break and enters took place during the evening/overnight hours.  The suspects targeted Canadian currency, alcohol, and electronics.  As a result of the investigation, two suspects were arrested in the afternoon hours on February 2nd, 2023.

Michael Lucas Rensen (28 years) of Pelham has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

• Break and enter commit (2 counts)

• Mischief under $5000

• Fail to comply with release order

• Fail to comply with probation order

Lylah Brittany Eileen Martin (22 years) of Pelham has been charged with the following Criminal Code offence:

• Mischief under $5000

Rensen is being held for a bail hearing scheduled to take place later today (Feb. 3, 2023) via video link to the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in the City of St. Catharines.

Martin was released on a Form 10 Undertaking and is scheduled to attend court on April 12, 2023, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in the City of St. Catharines.
