HAMILTON – An Ontario man with abundant facial tattoos who was wanted by police has been arrested in Hamilton, the OPP say.

Michael Stamatakos, 31, a federal offender, was wanted by the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad after violating the conditions of his statutory release on Feb. 23.

The man, who has large black circles tattooed around his eyes, a set of teeth across his mouth and a tear drop under his right eye, had been the subject of two Canada-wide arrest warrants this year.

After breaching statutory release conditions in February, he was recognized by nurse at a hospital in Hamilton who contacted police and he was taken into custody.

Another warrant was issued in October after his whereabouts became unknown.

Stamatakos was located and arrested by the Hamilton Police Service, the OPP said Tuesday in a news release.
