Youth seriously injured in Welland stabbing

A 17-year-old male is wanted for aggravated assault

On March 29, 2024, at approximately 12:30pm, 3 District (Welland/Fonthill) uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service attended the area of Gatfield Avenue and Macinnis Street, in the City of Welland for a stabbing call.

Investigation revealed a youth male had been stabbed in the chest by another youth male. The Niagara Emergency Medical Services attended the scene and tended to the victim. He was transported to an out of region hospital with serious injuries. He remains in stable condition

A 17 year old male suspect is wanted for the following charges:

• Aggravated Assault

Detectives with 3 District have taken carriage of the investigation.
