LETTER: NAFTA gutted private sector jobs in Niagara

PelhamToday received the following letter to the editor from Peter Voss:

I concur wholeheartedly with everything Andrew Watts is saying about the taxpayer getting clobbered by the Regional and local municipal tax levies.

My personal belief is the private sector tax base revenue took a big hit with the advent of NAFTA 35 years ago and ripped the guts out of good-paying private sector jobs in Niagara.

When the public sector workforce has some of the best-paying jobs here in Niagara, Andrew, you and I won`t get much sympathy here.

When politicians of any political stripe speak, you have to dissect very carefully what they are saying, to get even a glimmer of truth!
