PelhamToday received the following letter to the editor from reader Louise Morgan regarding federal Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre.
I hope taxpayers recognize that Pierre Poilievre is a "wannabe" ... be it the gatekeeper that he frequently maligns or a popular Twitter influencer like Trump.
Mr. Poilievre regularly asks for money "to elect him". Poilievre has taken a paycheque from Canadian taxpayers for many years. Don't know if he is active on "rumble" or "Gab" or other right-wing conservative sites.
Mr. Poilievre does not engage much in face-to-face debate. He informs us that he would make cuts, such as to the CBC, calls for "freedom" (Canada is still a democracy), blames Liberals for everything (cost of food, cost of energy) but never provides substantial programs/alternatives.
The time has come to quit the bellyaching, Mr. Poilievre. An aggressive attitude and empty rhetoric will not win an election.
Taxpayers want to see demonstrable leadership skills.
