PelhamToday received the following letter questioning Pelham politicians for not supporting the YMCA in Welland.
The Welland Y is not getting funding from Pelham. Why not?
The Y offers the complete package of swimming, pickelball, basketball,exercise programs and yoga. Plenty of free parking and convenient hours of access are an advantage.
Yet Pelham chooses not to support the many Pelham taxpayers who choose the Y over more expensive and less diverse options. At $100,000 a year that is significantly less than the one per cent increase (reason not to support the Y, as suggested in recent PelhamToday article).
More information is needed as to why Pelham chooses not to support this facility. This facility offers outreach and provides programs within mental health community. It truly is an inclusive facility.
