COLES, Neil Edward
December 6th 1947-February 23rd 2024

It is with profound sadness that the family of Neil announces his sudden passing on February 23rd, just ten short weeks after the love of his life Geri.  After meeting Geri at A&W in 1966, Neil knew he wanted to spend his life with Geri, and that’s exactly what he did.  Together they had two amazing children, Matt Coles (Crystal Thompson) and Melanie Coles Vanderlee.  He was so proud of his four grandchildren: Meredith, Dylan, Jack and Maya, and his two bonus grandchildren, Grace and Abbey.

Neil will be missed so much by his brothers, Warren (Joan) and Brian (Teresa) Coles, his sisters-in-law, Elenor Coles and Laura Langelaan (Tony), and his brothers-in-law, Jack Shaw and Colin McKinnon (Marguerite).  He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and so many very special friends.

He is predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Ina May (nee Peacock), brother, Harold, sister, Joyce (Hank), mother-in-law, Mary Florida McKinnon, and sisters-in-law, Elda, Norma, Joyce and brothers-in-law, Paul and Albert.

Neil lived his life for others, whether it was volunteering for the Liberal Party, the Lions Club, the Public Library Committee or any of the many organizations he was involved with on many levels.  He spent many years working for The Beer Store until he retired in 2005.

In honouring Neil’s wishes cremation has taken place.  Memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.  https://donate.mytributegift.org/Service?cid=f77882a816b13f58deb07da6d488a0cd344f4ba78a74c7fc78f42bf89e6013cc

Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Thursday, February 29 and from 11-1 pm on Friday, March 01, 2024 at Considerate Cremation & Burial Services, 26 Nihan Drive, St. Catharines (between Lake Street & Scott Street), 289-362-1144.  A private family graveside service will take place at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.  A Celebration of Life gathering will be held in May 2024.  Online condolences may be made at CCBSCares.ca
